So how do you know how intelligent your Border Collie is? There are several ways to measure your dog’s intelligence including how quickly your dog learns new commands, can find its way though obstacles, solve problems, or even just how quickly it recognises people and other things in its life. Just because you have an intelligent dog, does not mean it will be easy to train. Just because they are smart, your Border Collie may decide to do anything other than what you ask even if they understand what you want.... Working Tip:
Use your body to communicate with your dog what you want it to do.
Q. I would like to come and see the puppies?A. We usually allow people to see the puppies from 6 to 8 weeks old. Viewing them at an younger age is of no real advantage as they change so much in that time. Plus we do not want to place undue stress on the mum which may lead to unwanted complications, like weaning the puppies at too earlier an age. Weekends are the best time for us, though we do have a range of personal activities and commitments that we like to pursue each weekend. Please call and make a mutually agreeable time to see the puppies. If there are any changes to your commitment to visit, please call us let us know as soon as possible so you can re-schedule a time for your visit. ID Tags And RegistrationIt is important that you make sure your Border Collie is easily identifiable if it ever gets lost. We do not ever want to think about the consequences of losing our beloved dog, but the reality is that anything is possible. Be prepared for the worst so it is easy for your Border Collie to find its way home. Make sure your dog always wears a collar with ID tags attached with your dog’s name and your cell/mobile number on it. ID tags are a simple, cost-effective method of identifying your dog and they come in all sorts of materials, shapes, colours and sizes. While identification tags are great, if the collar comes off, or your Border Collie loses its tags, your dog may be lost forever if you do not use a more permanent method of identification. Microchipping and tattooing are two methods that make sure your pet is returned to you if the two of you are ever parted.... |
